The composition of the kit
Complete with new tent, usually it's repair kit with everything you need. At least it's good practice followed by most manufacturers. It includes repair tube//palatking.ru/Tents/img--repair/Repair_tube.jpg"> in case of breakage of the frame and a few self-adhesive patches for the sealing of cuts or just a couple pieces of fabric and a tube of glue . The latter is preferable (why – about it below).
If something in the kit still has not appeared, it is reasonable to buy. Kit to repair cuts, though not often, but still occurs in tourist shops . Costs from 100 to 300 p. Or you can collect yourself from any piece of waterproof fabric, plus be purchased at hardware small tube of glue for bonding all kinds of plastic materials: fabrics, PVC, polyester. But if was not the repair of the tube, it is possible to find it separately, but still the desired diameter, it is more difficult. At least for me, in the shops to meet them almost never. In this case, easier to just buy a spare section of the frame . It costs from 50 to 200 R. and weighs relatively little, 40-100 g But what if something happens, repair would be easier.
Repair cuts on the awning / tent day
Everything is quite simple:
First, wipe the "wounded" surface to avoid dust or water. This is important, otherwise everything will quickly come unstuck. In field realities, for lack of a hand under the cloth, it usually is a thing: clean glove or, sorry, a spare sock .
(home repairs tissue it is desirable to degrease fleece with Cologne)
- Cut out the patch with the edges 1-2 cm larger than our cut //palatking.ru/Tents/img--repair/Repair_puncture_1-1.jpg">. The corners of the fillet as it is with them all and begins to bully.
If this self-adhesive patch, remove the protective foil and, pulling the fabric of the tent so there are no wrinkles, sticking our masterpiece on top of the cut. Then, working from the center to the edges really smooth out and press .
If we have a regular fabric patches and a tube of glue, read what is written on the tube. Usually, the instructions recommend to apply the adhesive on the patch, and the place where it will be glued (preferably wider, with the stock, then well-kept territory ). Waiting for 10 minutes, or whatever it says, and sculpt the patch, smoothing it from the center to the edges. The main criterion is again to form wrinkles.
- If the soul doubts will survive or not (e.g., cut near the loop from the stick where the fabric is stretched strongly), we glue a similar patch on the back side.
- Waiting for another 15-20 minutes, until the adhesive is completely seized, after which the tent can be assembled and climb inside. Moreover, as practice shows, carefully repaired in the field tents have served their owners for many years to come.
I must say, regular fabric patches plus a tube of glue, at least with them and more fuss, more reliable show themselves. They work better in nasty weather conditions, when all wet, dirty and cold. Where their self-adhesive counterparts sometimes begin to fail.
Large cuts. If the length of the cut is such that the available patches are not sufficient, or they are overlapping or have to sacrifice the packaging bag from the tent (pegs / arcs). Fortunately, most of these bags are made by producers of the same material as the awning or tent bottom. Fabric there are many, the main thing would be glue.
If you broke one of the sections of the frame, easiest and most reliable method of repair is to swap it for a spare. The removable, extending inside the arc gum, a broken knee replaced on new, and then collect everything back . Overall, we have hands full arc again.
If the repair we only repair the tube, in this case:
- Again give human form to the edges of the broken knee that they were able to repair the pipe fitting.
- Wound on each side of the "fracture" tape, reinforced tape, or strips of the same fabric for patches .
- Tight and worn over repair up .
In principle, in haste nothing on the sides not covering, but simply to put on top of "fracture" repair the tube and secure it in place with a piece of tape or the player any with a toothpick. But in this case where the arc pressure on the edge tube repair will be heavily loaded, and possible secondary damage .
Repair the tube if not, you can try to build it, turning in several layers of tin of the tin or even aluminum beer cans (alas, not uncommon that they roll underfoot). And if not, we will have to invent a splint out of some sticks placed in a circle or pegs with V-shaped profile. Quite a bulky design, but as they say "bezrybe cancer and fish".
